Now, there will be those in the community that say there is no such thing, but who are they to speak on something they have never done? Yep, I do not like going by the "rules" or pinning myself to a wall.
I am an artist of many talents, but two things I have a serious passion for and that is being creative in all forms, and writing/poetry. So, in light of that, when I create a piece of art, I am inspired to write something about it.
I am going to share something that I wrote a while back, A small snip-it so you can see what I mean. A friend gave me a challenge to create something, then write about what I saw, felt, and imagined while making it. Kind of like third person perspective.
"A simple book, with simple pages, of emerging tender, hopeless romantic phrases - Like waves of clouds forming, over the horizon's edge, to catch what it is chasing".
I created a journal for that same friend, who challenged me, and sent this poem inside of it. The photo above is the result of what I was feeling the whole time I was creating that journal. If you look at the picture closely, I am a bit uneasy. Why? I was seeking all the things I was wishing for her also. It came through in my art work, and shows emotion without words, which IS Silent Poetry!
In the previous post I challenged those who would want to join in to do the same thing:
First, you have to know why you are writing.
Second, you have to be driven by emotion
Thirdly, you need to have an imagination
Fourth, break out of that box
Fifth, Know when to quit
Sixth, Be Brave, Bold, and true
Seventh, Never underestimate yourself
Lastly, and the most important, Have Fun
Be free and go far beyond the limits of the normal expression of thought. Do not be afraid to quit when it is not serving your greatness. Be able to shift and flow with life as it comes!
