Creative Journaling/Inspiration
01/15/2024There are a few ways to go about using quotes, though in my opinion, which you may take as you like, should always come from something that you have a connection to. So, in other words, do not just make a quote just to be making quotes.
Some may find that a little harsh, but the reality is, when others share what you create it is because they felt something after reading it. Always ensure that your name is on it and there is a date with it to help prevent others from stealing it. but if it does happen then you have a record.
Now, back to the quote. The one you see to the right here, is from a poem I wrote. I took out parts of it and made little quotes from it to intrigue others to read the whole poem. This is one way to create a unique quote all your own.
The other way to to do as we talked about in the podcast previous t this posting. If you missed it please go have a listen. We look for unique words that describe something, or use something other than what it is (like a metaphor) to create the quote.
So, for instance, I am going to walk you guys and gals through this so that it is here for everyone to read and take notes. My personal favorite is taking from my own works. So that is what I am going to do now. I wrote a poem some years ago, and there is a section that makes an amazing deep thought connection for a quote. Tell me what you think...
"Deepening pain, covering every billboard, trading humanity for anorexia, while spitting dreams down back alley highways of the forgotten."
And the one we came up with in the recording, was about me personally, so here that one is as well.
"She was a lexophile who used her wordsmith abilities, as she Coddiwompled around from one place to another."
Below are a couple more quotes I have taken from my writings, to show you how easy it is. So, we encourage you to build your own quotes and you would like to please comment with what you came up with or you can post on IG and tag us so that we may come see what you created. We will even share on our page, so others may be inspired as well. Tag - @luvofwords13
